Harley Davidson has launched the Nightster in India between ₹14.99 lakh and ₹15.13 lakh. The Nightster made its international debut four months back and Harley Davidson has been pretty quick to bring it to our shores. The Nightster is available in three colors, namely, Vivid Black, Gunship Grey, and Redline Red. Let’s take a look at Nightster in detail:

The Nighster is based on the steel tubular chassis that also underpins the Sportster S. This frame helps the Nightster achieve a weight of 218kg which is much lighter than the older Sportster models. It gets full LED lighting all around and Harley Davidson is offering various accessories as well to spruce it up. Like a true Harley, the Nightster rides very low with the seat height rated at 705mm. Thanks to its low seat height, the Nightster has a ground clearance of just 110mm. It gets 19-inch wheels in the front and 16-inch wheels at the back. The fuel tank is rated at 11.7 liters which is similar to the Sportster.

The suspension in front is a 41mm Showa telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers, whereas the rear gets dual outboard, emulsion technology shock absorbers with coil springs. Braking duties are taken care of by a 320mm front disc and an axially mounted four-piston caliper, and a floating disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear. The Nighster gets a number of electric riding aids and three riding modes which tweak the engine, brakes, and traction control. In terms of powertrain, the Nightster is the first Harley Davidson to feature a smaller version of the Sportster S and Pan America 1250’s engine.

It gets a 60-degree V-twin motor that is rated at 975cc. It produces 90hp at 7,500rpm and 95Nm at 5,750rpm. The DOHC engine features a variable valve timing system which is similar to the Sportster S and Pan America. However, it only works on the intake valves whereas the bigger engine has it on the exhaust valves as well. The Nightster is a more affordable and practical alternative to the single-seater Sportster S going by the specifications and its pricing.
